Rules & Regulations
- The competition is open to amateur photographers of all ages.
- You may enter a maximum of one photograph (black & white or colour) in each category.
- Photographs must be entered by e-mail to: karen@thewillmentgroup.com in digital jpeg format at high resolution. (Photographs must be 350dpi accompanied by a 72”dpi thumbnail). They can also be sent by mail on cd to the following address: - Karen Smart, Universal Marina, Crableck Lane, Sarisbury Green, Southampton, SO31 7ZN.
- Each entry must be sent with a heading of “Universal Photography Competition 2008” and the Category in which it is entered (“Buoy”, “12m Italia” or “Life”), otherwise the entry will not be considered. The covering email or letter must also include name, address and contact telephone number, as well as date of birth (if aged under 18) of the entrant. Universal Marina will accept no responsibility for unreceived or corrupted emails or cds, which will not be considered.
- Photographs cannot be returned.
- Photographers must seek the permission of those people featured in the photograph (or the permission of guardians for photographs of minors) or events/properties before submitting your entry.
- Photographs must not have been previously published.
- A panel of judges will choose the winning entries. The decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
- Any winner in breach of the rules will have their prize withdrawn.
- Prizes are non-transferable and non-negotiable and there will be no monetary equivalent.
- By submitting images the photographer grants Universal Marina the licence to use/edit /publish/broadcast the photograph in any marketing activity including publicity and promotional purposes.
- Pictures must be taken within the last year
All winning entries will be notified and can collect their prize from Andark’s stand at the 2008 PSP Southampton Boat Show.
Photographs submitted should depict one of the following categories:
- Universal Marina buoy in the mid Solent at (50: 47.33’N : 01: 14.59’W)
- The International 12m Italia with the Universal logo on the mainsail, during Skandia Cowes Week.
- Life at Universal Marina
