Having had the vision to create a modern marina with family values and service, it has now, after 10 years, turned into a reality. Universal Marina is a nucleus of boats and businesses, bringing a great sense of community to the site.
Lauren has sailed since a very young age, and has been involved in the marine industry for many years. Joining the team just over two years ago she brings experience from working with sailmakers, the International Sailing Federation and an event management company.
Matt has been with Universal Marina for four years now, witnessing the redevelopment of the site. Along with fellow team members Jamie and Rich, they are always busy on site maintaining and improving the facilities. Having taught sailing in Greece for many years, he now prefers to catch a wave surfing whenever the opportunity arrives.
Before joining the Universal team two years ago Jamie worked in the event and marquee industry. Prior to this he travelled extensively, experiencing many different cultures. Together with Matt and Rich, they daily tackle maintenance issues on site. Jamie enjoys his sailing and can often be spotted on a kayak going up the river!
Arriving from South Africa in 2004, Rich took a career change from hospitality to join our Universal team last year. Dock checking to dump trucking, he pulls his hand to all tasks. Any free time on his hands, Rich will be found by the water fishing.
Having worked with the company now for over 10 years Claire has witnessed Universal Marina grow from an idea into today’s reality. If you are interested in letting office or workshop space please contact Claire for more information Tel. 01489 574 272.
Richard has been with Universal Marina for two years now and has been managing the building and development projects on site. Having managed a boat building, and race management company prior to Universal, he has brought a wide knowledge base to the table.
