It is probably the best-kept secret on the River. The most peaceful and tranquil of environments in juxtaposition with the serious businesses that hide within its green surroundings.

Nestling between the oak trees on the east bank of the river Hamble approximately a mile and a half from the mouth of the river where the Hamble joins Southampton water and the Solent lies a 68 acres site. Most of land is set aside for nature, 10 acres of which hosts a traditional boat yard that has undergone significant changes over the past 10 years. Facilities on site are Café Lulworth, Training schools, yacht repairs, maintenance, yacht development & management, Classic yacht charter Yacht brokers surveyors and a host of other businesses (see tenants link).

A riverbank walk linking Warsash to Burseldon passes through Universal. Half way along the bank set back over a ridge from the river is Holly Hill Park a Victorian landscape garden set in 70 acres of woods with man made lakes and a grotto of 5 acres. At the upper end is Manor Country Park and Farm. The River is navigable at some states of the tide as far as Botley. Apart from Café Lulworth (Rib & tender park adjacent) at Universal there are various pubs restaurants at both ends of the footpath or you can reach them by tender.
