Your boat and the environment
We are now more aware than ever of the damaging effects toxic chemicals can have on our local environment.  Here at Universal Marina we are trying to encourage our Berth holders and Tenants alike to think carefully about the impact they have.

Antifoul
There is a wash down filtration system in place on the dock to ensure that water used during pressure washing is filtered and made safe prior to re entering the river.

Sewage & Grey Water
We would appreciate it if you could refrain from pumping raw sewage into the marina environment. You will find plenty of toilet and shower facilities to use on shore instead.
We would like to encourage you to use environmentally friendly cleaning products to help reduce the chemical impact in the water.  The following sites have a wide selection of suitable products.

Effects on Wild life
Please be aware of your wash and noise level while out on your boat.  It not only affects the wildlife and scenery of the area, but also disturbs residents and other boat users.

Recycling and waste disposal
The introduction of the Green Blue recycling bin System is now in place for all your relevant waste items.  Only items which cannot be placed in these bins, which are clearly signposted, should be placed in the regular ‘land fill’ bins. Unsightly rubbish on the ground is easily avoided, so let’s try and keep Universal Marina clean by using all the bins provided.

Batteries and oil should be deposited in the correct facility located at the top corner of the site (view marina plan).  If you are unsure of where this is, please ask at the marina office and they will happily show you.
